Our Chatty Bus event is back on the road on Tuesday, 6th August 2024! Join us for a friendly journey on the 280 bus service, where conversation and community are the destinations.

  • We'll have conversation starters, light games, and information about local activities and social groups to suit all interests.

All aboard the 280 service!

The Chatty Bus will be taking over one of our new 280 buses for the day. This route launches on 1st July 2024 and offers a convenient way to travel between Oxford City Centre, Headington, Wheatley, Tiddington and Thame.

Here's a breakdown of the 280 route:

  • The 280 service runs up to every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday.
  • The route connects Oxford City Centre to Thame, stopping at Headington, Wheatley, and Tiddington along the way.
  • In the evenings, the service also stops at Thornhill Park&Ride for additional connections.
  • This route is a great way to explore new parts of Oxford and surrounding areas, all while enjoying a friendly and social atmosphere on the Chatty Bus.

Chatty Bus timetable:

The Chatty Bus will be running on a specific 280 bus, which is scheduled to leave Oxford City Centre High Street stop T2 at 09:00, 11:00 and 13:00, and to leave Thame Town Hall at 09:55 and 11:55.

  • Concessionary pass holders and regular fare-paying passengers can use their passes to hop on-board.

How to Redeem:

  • When boarding the designated 280 bus service on 6th August, please ask your driver for a Chatty Bus Discounted Ticket.
  • The ticket can be purchased on-board the bus with cash or contactless payment, however, they will not be available via the Oxford Bus Company app.
