Thames Travel has launched a new bus service serving Goring and Wallingford, in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council.

The new 134 service will operate up to every hour from Monday to Friday between Goring & Streatley Station and Wallingford Market Place. The service stops via Cleeve, South Stoke, North Stoke, Mongewell and Wallingford Community Hospital.

The route was previously run by community transport operator Going Forward Buses.

The number of journeys will remain the same, with the timetable broadly the same or just a few minutes different. A larger bus will now be used, providing increased capacity for busier journeys.

Luke Marion, Managing Director of Thames Travel, said: “We’re pleased to provide this new service in South Oxfordshire, ensuring the network continues for bus passengers in the area.

“We were asked to step in and help maintain the service and thanks to support from Oxfordshire County Council, were able to help.

“Congratulation to Michael Ward on delivering a fantastic community service for many years. We now look forward to building on the service welcoming more people on board.”

Thames Travel is based in Didcot and is the third largest bus operator in the county.
