Service Changes from 20th September 2026
Today

We’ll be making changes to our bus network from 20th September 2026, following the reopening of Botley Road.
These changes are designed to improve connectivity across Oxfordshire, with more frequent services, new cross-city connections and more buses during evenings and on weekends, as well as revised timetables to improve punctuality and reliability.
Highlights include new and enhanced services across Bicester, more frequent buses serving Risinghurst, Wantage, Abingdon and Southmoor, and new cross-city connections on services 4, 6 and 400.

3S | Rose Hill - Oxford City - Abingdon Road - Matthew Arnold School
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality, reflecting faster journey times following the introduction of the temporary congestion charge.

4 & 4A | Risinghurst – Headington - JR Hospital - Oxford City - Botley - Elms Rise
With support from Oxfordshire County Council, service 4A will be extended through Oxford City Centre to the JR Hospital and Risinghurst and renumbered service 4.
Buses will operate up to every 30 minutes, seven days a week, between Elms Rise, Oxford City Centre and Risinghurst. Late evening journeys will continue to operate between Elms Rise and Oxford City Centre.

4B & 200 | Harcourt Hill - Botley - Oxford City
Service 4B will be renumbered service 200 and extended into Oxford City Centre, terminating at Magdalen Street. Buses will operate up to every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, supported by Oxfordshire County Council.

5A | Minchery Farm - Templars Square - Cowley Road - Oxford City
With support from Oxfordshire County Council, the Saturday evening and Sunday service will be increased to operate every 30 minutes.

6 & 35 | Abingdon - Radley - Kennington - Oxford City - Wolvercote
Service 6 will be extended to Abingdon via Kennington and Radley, providing a new cross-city connection and replacing service 35.
Buses will operate up to every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday, with services operating up to every 30 minutes during the evenings and on Sundays.

11 | Oxford City - Cowley - Garsington - Chalgrove - Watlington
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality, with an additional journey departing Oxford at 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council.

15 | Oxford City - Morrell Avenue - Churchill Hospital - Wood Farm
The route and timetable will be revised, with buses operating via a wider route in Wood Farm with additional stops served along Masons Road and Titup Hall Drive.

21 | Bicester - Highfield - Kings End
An enhanced timetable will be introduced, with additional daytime journeys.
On weekdays, the first journey of the day will no longer start from Chesterton and will instead commence from Highfield, Bowmont Square. Chesterton will instead be served by our new service 25, which will provide a regular daytime service to the village for the first time in many years.
Operation of the service will transfer from Oxford Bus Company to Thames Travel.

25 | Upper Heyford - Heyford Park - Chesterton - Bicester - Ambrosden - JR Hospital
25A | Upper Heyford - Heyford Park - Bicester - Ambrosden - Upper Arncott
From 20th September, Thames Travel service 25 and Stagecoach services H5 and 29 will be combined to form new services 25 and 25A, in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council.
Service 25 will operate hourly between Upper Heyford and the JR Hospital, serving Heyford Park, Middleton Stoney, Chesterton, Bicester, Ambrosden and Islip. This will replace connections currently provided by service H5. Additional late evening journeys will operate between Bicester, Heyford Park and Upper Heyford, with the last bus from Bicester Village Station departing at 11pm.
Service 25A will operate hourly between Upper Heyford and Upper Arncott, serving Heyford Park, Middleton Stoney, Bicester and Ambrosden. This will replace connections currently provided by service 29.
Services 25 and 25A will combine to provide up to two buses per hour between Upper Heyford, Bicester and Ambrosden.
Sunday services between Upper Heyford, Bicester and Upper Arncott will continue to be operated by Stagecoach.

33 & 33A | Abingdon - Didcot - Wallingford - Henley-on-Thames
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality and provide better coordination of services between Didcot Parkway and Milton Park.
Additional journeys on service 33 will serve Wallingford School, providing improved connections for students travelling from Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Didcot and Abingdon. Journeys serving The Henley College will be amended to operate via Henley-on-Thames Railway Station.
On Sundays, the route will be amended to operate via Benson and RAF Benson, providing a Sunday service to these communities for the first time in several years. All Sunday journeys will start and finish at Henley Rail Station, with revised departure times throughout.

35A | Kennington - Matthew Arnold School
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality, reflecting faster journey times following the introduction of the temporary congestion charge.

44 | Abingdon - Wootton - Cumnor - Oxford City
Following the reopening of Botley Road, service 44 will return to Oxford City Centre, serving Police Station, Speedwell Street, Westgate and Frideswide Square.
Operation of the service will transfer from Thames Travel to Oxford Bus Company.

63 & 63S | Southmoor - Fyfield - Appleton- Botley - Oxford City
Following the reopening of Botley Road, services 63 and 63S will return to Oxford City Centre, serving Police Station, Speedwell Street, Westgate and Frideswide Square.

400 | Seacourt P&R - Oxford City - Thornhill P&R - Wheatley - Thame
Following the reopening of Botley Road, service 400 will once again continue beyond Oxford City Centre to Seacourt Park&Ride, serving all stops along Botley Road. In Oxford City Centre, buses will call at Frideswide Square instead of Oxford Railway Station.

600 | Oxford City - Redbridge P&R - Cowley - JR Hospital - Thornhill P&R
There will be minor changes to the stops served, with buses calling at Oxford Railway Station R3 instead of Frideswide Square. Following feedback from our drivers and passengers, services towards Thornhill Park&Ride will call at JR Hospital Main Entrance J4 instead of J3.

X1 & X15 | Oxford City - Abingdon - Marcham - Southmoor - Witney
From 20th September, service X1 will be withdrawn and replaced by enhanced services X15 and X35.
Service X15 will be increased in frequency, with buses operating up to every 30 minutes between Oxford, Abingdon, Marcham and Southmoor, with services continuing to Witney hourly. To improve reliability, buses will no longer serve Oxford Rail Station, with buses terminating at Westgate. On Sundays, buses will operate hourly between Oxford and Marcham.
Additional journeys will be introduced on Friday and Saturday nights as service NX15, partially replacing the NX1.

A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality and provide better coordination of services between Didcot Parkway and Milton Park.

X3 | Barton Park - JR Hospital - Oxford City - Abingdon
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality and maintain a coordinated frequency of up to every 10 minutes between Abingdon and Oxford, in conjunction with the revised X2 timetable.

X32 | Didcot - Oxford City - JR Hospital
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality and provide better coordination of services between Didcot Parkway and Milton Park.

X24 X34 & 34 | Didcot - GWP South - Harwell Campus - Newbury
Minor timetable changes will be made to services X24 and X34 to support a revised X35 timetable.
A new Sunday service 34 will be introduced between Didcot, Harwell Campus and Newbury, operating via West Ilsley, East Ilsley, Beedon and Chieveley. Buses will operate up to every two hours, with financial support from West Berkshire Council.

X35 | Didcot - GWP South - Harwell Campus - Wantage - Grove - Abingdon
Service X35 will be extended to Abingdon, increasing the frequency between Wantage and Abingdon to every 30 minutes on weekdays and replacing this section of service X1.
In Grove, buses will no longer serve Mayfield Avenue, instead operating direct along Main Street. Between Frilford and Abingdon, buses will operate directly along the A415, with Marcham served by the enhanced X15 service.
On school days, the 0745 journey from Wantage will extend to Abingdon College arriving at 0844.

X36 | Nobel Park - Didcot - Grove - Wantage
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality and provide better coordination of services between Didcot Parkway and Milton Park.

Pulhams X52 | Oxford City - Witney - Burford - Cheltenham
A revised timetable will be introduced to improve punctuality, with faster journey times between Oxford and Witney, and additional running time provided between Witney and Cheltenham. Additional stops will be served between Witney and Oxford, with buses now calling at Witney High Street, Cassington Turn and Summertown First Turn.
