New shuttle bus service launch to Waterperry Gardens

A new shuttle bus service has been introduced to help people visit Waterperry Gardens sustainably at weekends and on bank holidays this summer.

Oxford Bus Company and Waterperry Gardens have partnered to launch the service which starts this Saturday (June 13th).

The weekend only shuttle service will operate between Thornhill Park & Ride, Wheatley, and the Waterperry site until August 30th and call at all local bus stops on the line of the route.

Waterperry Gardens is renowned for its historic twenty acres of beautifully landscaped ornamental gardens, extensive plant centre, garden and gift shop, gallery, museum and tea shop.

Based near Wheatley, Oxfordshire, Waterperry Gardens partnered with Oxford Bus Company as part of its drive to make the attraction more sustainable by introducing measures that help reduce its CO2 footprint.

Luke Marion, Oxford Bus Company, Managing Director, said: “This is an exciting new partnership based on shared sustainability values.

“The new WP1 service is designed to help people travel to and from Waterperry Gardens via bus during its peak summer period, with Thornhill Park & Ride acting as a key connectivity hub.

“All the details of the new timetable are on our website and we look forward to welcoming people on board across the summer to visit one of Oxfordshire's premier attractions.”
