Pulhams Coaches has announced a new bus service is being launched between Bishop’s Cleeve and Cheltenham.
The new hourly "R" service starts on 19th February and will link Bishop’s Cleeve and the St Marks' area with major employment and education sites to the West of Cheltenham - such as Gallagher Retail Park, Coronation Square, Pates' Grammar School and Gloucestershire College, as well as the city centre.
The announcement comes after the company secured a three-year contract from Gloucestershire County Council to operate the new service.
In a further boost to customers, the route will be part of the government’s £2 fare cap scheme to help towards the cost of living and encourage more people to travel by bus.
Luke Marion, Managing Director of Pulhams Coaches, said: “This is excellent news for local bus users and for the various communities on the route.
“It will help more people get out and about, travel in a sustainable way to their place of work or education and support the local economy.
“We’re pleased that Gloucestershire County Council has awarded this tender to Pulhams, it is a positive step in achieving our strategic ambitions of developing local bus services across Gloucestershire to benefit local residents.”
The timetable for the new service is available here.
