Looking for an affordable way to travel into Oxford?

Park & Ride remains one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to reach the city centre, with convenient locations around the city and frequent bus services to key destinations. From 17th August 2026, a new Combined Parking & Bus ticket will be introduced, offering great value for drivers and their passengers.

What’s changing?

From Monday 17th August 2026 the current offer of free bus travel when you purchase parking for £2.50 is being replaced by new £3.00 Combined Parking & Bus travel tickets.

These new tickets will give 16 hours of parking at one of Oxford’s five Park & Ride sites and return travel for five customers of any age travelling together into Oxford City Centre and other key destinations like John Radcliffe Hospital and Oxford Brookes University.

Why is this happening?

To help drivers make the switch to greener travel, Oxford Bus Company, Thames Travel, and Stagecoach, together with the local councils, have worked together to make sure a simple, attractive offer continues for Park & Ride users following the launch of the Congestion Charge and subsequent Traffic Filters Trial. This supports sustainable transport, reduces congestion, and helps everyone save money on their trips to Oxford.

How does it work?

When you arrive at a Park & Ride site, you’ll need to pay using either a car park ticket machine or via RingGo. Make sure you select the Parking & Bus option for £3.00 and then simply show your parking ticket or active RingGo session to the bus driver as you board. You won’t be issued a ticket and you just need to show the same thing on your way back.

Combined Parking & Bus tickets can be used on any local bus service from a stop within the Park & Ride site, it doesn’t have to be a dedicated Park & Ride service. These tickets aren’t valid on Oxford Bus Company Airline services or Stagecoach’s Oxford Tube. When returning to your car, you can use your Combined Parking & Bus ticket on any local bus service that goes into the Park & Ride site (services calling at stops adjacent to Park & Ride sites are excluded).

What if there’s more than five customers travelling together?

Your Combined Parking & Bus ticket covers any five customers of any age for their return bus travel. Any additional customers can purchase one of our normal Park & Ride tickets. You can also use your Concessionary Bus Pass on most of our bus services. Please note that we’ll no longer be offering 2 To Go tickets from the same date.

Which Park & Ride sites is the Combined Parking & Bus ticket valid from?

The Combined Parking & Bus ticket is available at Redbridge, Pear Tree, Seacourt, Thornhill and Oxford Parkway Park & Ride sites. The offer is not valid at Bicester Park & Ride.

Can I use a Combined Parking & Bus ticket for bus travel from the Park & Ride sites heading away from Oxford?

No – a Combined Parking & Bus ticket only includes travel for journeys towards Oxford from the Park & Ride sites listed above. You can’t, for example, use it for travel from Redbridge Park & Ride to Abingdon or from Oxford Parkway Park & Ride to Kidlington.

What if I’m staying for longer than 16 hours?

Combined Parking & Bus tickets are valid for 16 hours from the time of issue. If you plan to stay for longer than this, other durations of parking are available and you can purchase a separate bus ticket.
