Minor Changes to The Key Smartcard from 26th May

10 months ago Fri 17th May 2024

From Sunday, 26th May 2024, we’ll be making some minor adjustments to our Key smartcard ticketing.

From this date, we'll no longer have our self-service Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) in our Oxford City Centre Travel Shops or at Didcot Parkway Rail Station for customers to top up their Key cards. Key smartcard services will remain available over the counter at our Travel Shops or online, but our app is the best place to buy your tickets – it’s available 24/7 and your ticket will be ready instantly!

We'll also no longer be offering any of our Airline products via The Key smartcard. As we’ve invested in our app and online booking platforms, we’ve seen demand for Airline tickets on our Key smartcards continue to fall. All current Key smartcard products will continue to work until their expiry, and most will be available to purchase on our app instead. The only ticket withdrawn due to low demand is the Heathrow Adult Annual pass.

If you’ve got any questions about this change, or need help getting set up on the Oxford Bus app, please get in touch with our friendly Customer Services Team.
