Travel Shop & Ticket Sales Assistants

15 hours per week

Saturday - Sunday

Oxford Bus Company is looking to recruit two Travel Shop & Ticket Sales Assistants to work at our very busy and successful City Centre Travel Shop, our City Sightseeing Visitor Information Point and other sites around our network.

This is primarily a customer facing retail role, so good customer focus skills are essential; additionally, the role requires extensive use of IT in relation to the Key product, so the successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate their IT skills. The people we are looking for must be highly motivated and enthusiastic team players, and with an ability to work unsupervised and to display initiative. Knowledge of our bus routes and Oxford would be useful but full training will be given.

The successful candidates will be required to work 15 hours per week, predominently on Saturday and Sundays and would also have the opportunity to help cover holiday and sickness absence, therefore candidates should ideally be able to offer some flexibility regarding their working hours.

Apprenticeships in Mechanical Engineering

Mon-Fri £7.52 per hour,

Sat-Sun £9.77 per hour.

Monday to Friday 07.00hrs to 15.00hrs (with some flexibility)

We are recruiting for two apprenticeship opportunities for motivated individuals to join our Engineering team as an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer. Our Engineering Department plays a vital role in keeping our buses and coaches on the road, allowing us to deliver an ever-improving customer experience.

This is a four-year apprenticeship learning how to repair/refit our fleet, with training primarily given on the job, but with additional study done on block release at S&B Automotive Academy in Bristol, who run a specific apprenticeship in Transport Engineering Maintenance.

The successful candidates will need to have a commitment to continued learning and be able to demonstrate practical skills relevant to the role. A pass in Maths and English at GCSE, or equivalent qualifications, is also essential. Enthusiasm, a willingness to work as part of a small team, to listen to feedback, flexibility and basic computer literacy are also key elements that we are looking for.
